Petredec (Europe) Limited (“PEL”) is fully committed to conducting its business activities with integrity and excellence and to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of its business or supply chain.
Policies
As part of its commitment to combatting modern slavery and human trafficking PEL is focused on reviewing its current internal policies and where necessary, updating them and/or creating new policies, which apply to combatting modern slavery. To this effect a modern slavery policy has been drafted that provides more information and guidance on the topic.
Supply Chain
The supply chain principally covers the buying, transporting, storing and distributing of LPG. The vast majority of PEL’s suppliers are based and operate in Western Europe and the USA. Western Europe and the USA are classified as low risk jurisdictions according to the Global Slavery Index.
Nonetheless, whilst the Company considers that it deals with suppliers mainly in low risk jurisdictions, it is committed to working with all its suppliers in combatting modern slavery and human trafficking, and will endeavour to ensure it has an effective process of reviewing its supply chain to help achieve this.
Due Diligence Process Review
Notwithstanding the low level of risk evaluated within our supply chains, the Company is committed to evaluating the nature and extent of its exposure to modern slavery occurring in its supply chain. The company continues to carry out periodic screenings of its suppliers throughout their entire group structure up to the ultimate beneficial owner. To improve our screenings, the company has introduced a KYC questionnaire requesting details of product sourcing and counterparties anti-slavery policies. Where necessary, we will continue to improve our due diligence process to:
- Identify, assess and monitor potential risk areas;
- work to mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking.
Training
The company continues to update and share relevant training slides with its employees across its global offices in order to ensure that provides more information about recognising the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in its business and supply chains, and the importance of reporting it so it can be addressed.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes PEL’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 August 2021.
